What is Agistment?

Agistment is the term used to describe a livery service, where the alpacas are guests at CS ALPACAS. It can be short-term (1 month) or longer (even permanently).

Why Agistment?

• Situation arises that you need someone to look after your alpacas for a few weeks.
• You want to own alpacas, but at present don’t have the land set up.
• You do not have enough land to separate your young males from the females.
• You want to buy an individual alpaca and increase your breeding herd gradually. Obviously one alpaca cannot be kept by itself, hence it can be agisted until numbers are sufficient (minimum of 3 alpacas) to move back to the rest of your herd.
